KneppKraft is a licensed General Engineering & Building contractor working across LA and Orange County. It began on the docks of Long Beach in 1985 and grew into a company Southern California clients have trusted for decades, most of them returning, referral by referral.
From a yacht-repair shop to a structural specialist.
KneppKraft started in 1985 as a yacht-repair business, “Knepp-Kraft”, on the Alamitos Bay docks in Long Beach, founded by a former ship’s master and Alaska commercial fisherman. Boat repair became home repair, home repair became general contracting, and in 1988 the company earned its California contractor’s license.
When the 1994 Northridge earthquake hit, KneppKraft moved into property-loss work, inspecting and repairing structural and earthquake damage. That experience built into a structural and concrete repair practice and a nationwide catastrophe-consulting business that has run from Alaska to Louisiana.
Today the company is run by founder J Knepper and his son Jeramy Knepper, who leads the field work. Same family, same standards, and the same reason clients have stayed with us for 15 and 20 years at a time.

KneppKraft provides free construction training to students in Honduras at RVT (Roatan VoTec), passing on four decades of building know-how to the next generation of tradespeople. It’s the kind of work that doesn’t show up on a project list, but it’s part of who this family business is.
